Ladies Auxiliary
Department of Texas Officers

Department of Texas President

Dorthy Bennett - will lead the Ladies Auxiliary VFW for the 2013-14 year under her theme “PATRIOTISM HONORING REMEMBERING.”

Duties: This individual is entrusted with the important duty of teaching and protecting the cardinal principles of the Ladies Auxiliary and the supervision of duties of all other officers of the Ladies Auxiliary. He is guided by the Ladies Auxiliary constitution and by the decision of the Ladies Auxiliary as a body.  Yet, responsibility for the Ladies Auxiliary's success rests largely upon her shoulders.


 
     

Department of Texas Senior Vice-President

Jane McCormick

Duties: The responsibilities of this office are devoted largely to the membership enrollment activities of the Ladies Auxiliary and other duties as assigned by the President. There is nothing more important to the life and blood of the Ladies Auxiliary then the membership. The Senior Vice-President should be willing and able to fill in for the Ladies Auxiliary President if the need arises. 


 
     

Department of Junior Vice-President

Andrea King

Duties: The responsibilities of this office are devoted largely to the membership enrollment activities of the Ladies Auxiliary and other duties as assigned by the President. There is nothing more important to the life and blood of the Ladies Auxiliary then the membership. The Junior Vice-President should be willing and able to fill in for the Ladies Auxiliary President if the need arises. 


 
     

Department of Texas Secretary

Barbara Hoffman

Duties: The Secretary will maintain files showing the business transacted by the Auxiliary, including meeting minutes, general orders, communications, a roll of deceased members, a record book of rejected applicants and expelled members and will be charged with sending the names of the delegates and alternates to the National/Department Secretary prior to their respective conventions.  She shall also attest by her signature all actions of the Auxiliary and attend to all matters of correspondence under the direction of the President.  She shall also notify newly elected members and prepare reports as directed by the President.

Department of Texas Treasurer

Jo Ella Menn

Duties: The Treasurer shall hold all funds and securities belonging to the Auxiliary.  She shall order all supplies and have charge of supplies for the Auxiliary purchased from National Headquarters by vote of the auxiliary.  She shall account for all of the funds of the Auxiliary, transmit dues and collect all monies.

Department of Texas Chaplain

Mildred Holland

Duties: Chaplain - The sacred duties of this office are in themselves a solemn obligation. The Chaplain shall obligate new members and perform such other duties as the Ritual directs, and by her own life and conduct, prove a bright example to your Sisters.


 
     

Department of Texas Conductress

Esperanza Lackey

Duties: The Conductress - It shall be her duty at the opening of each meeting to see that all those present are entitled to remain; assist in the floor work ceremonies and at initiation. As the first impression on a stranger is made by her, she should be familiar with all our workings so that the impression may be a good one.


 
     

Department of Texas Guard

Donna James

Duties: The Guard shall guard the doors, and by her watchfulness, see that only those eligible enter.

Department of Texas Chief of Staff

Celia Koci

Duties: The Chief of Staff shall, if so appointed, have charge of the organization and extension of new Ladies Auxiliaries in her Department and shall perform the duties properly incident to her office. She shall make reports to the Department President as may be required. She shall oversee new Ladies Auxiliaries to be assured that the authorized organizer works with them in instructing them in the workings of the organization. She shall also work closely with the Ladies Auxiliaries having less than ten (10) members paid by February 1 of the current year.
